ORILLIA, ON – The Mclean & Dickey Insurance Orillia Terriers picked up a crucial six points this past weekend as the club improved to 14 – 2 – 1 – 0 on the season.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 7TH VS STAYNER
The Orillia Terriers took control early in their game against the Stayner Siskins, cruising to a 4-1 victory.
In the first period, Dylan Palomaki opened the scoring for the Terriers at 11:28, assisted by Lleyton McLean and Jordan Fuller. Just a few minutes later, at 15:58, Cole Tucker extended Orillia’s lead with his first goal in the PJHL, with assists from Fuller and Palomaki.
The Terriers maintained their momentum in the second period, as Fuller found the back of the net at 9:20, assisted by Palomaki and McLean, bringing Orillia’s lead to 3-0. Just 21 seconds later, Caden Carroll capitalized on an assist from Finn Price, scoring his second goal of the season and making it 4-0 for Orillia.
Stayner fought back in the third period, with Gunner Kirk breaking Orillia’s shutout at 18:23, assisted by Bryden Shank and Noah Prokopec. However, it was too little, too late, as the Terriers held on for a decisive 4-1 win.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 9TH VS INNISFIL
The Orillia Terriers continued their winning ways with a solid 4-1 victory over the Innisfil Spartans, fueled by an impressive team effort led by Dylan Palomaki and Jordan Fuller.
The Terriers got on the board in the first period with a power-play goal at 11:05 from Colton Dumond, assisted by Palomaki and Fuller. Later in the period, at 18:53, Josh Presley doubled Orillia’s lead with help from Palomaki and Fuller, ending the first with the Terriers up 2-0.
The second period saw no scoring, but the action picked up again in the third. Innisfil managed to close the gap at 5:11 with a power-play goal from Kevin Buset, assisted by Garin Fenik and Will Stratos, making it 2-1.
Orillia responded quickly. At 7:36, Palomaki scored his 20th goal of the season, assisted by Fuller and Presley, restoring the two-goal cushion. The Terriers sealed the game at 16:19, as Tyler Kelly netted his third goal of the season, with Fuller and Palomaki again involved in the play.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10TH VS PENETANG
The Orillia Terriers staged a thrilling comeback to defeat the Penetang Kings 5-4 in overtime, turning around a three-goal deficit to earn a hard-fought victory.
The Kings started strong, with Tanner Thayer opening the scoring late in the first period at 19:19, assisted by Max Geere and Cole Rumbolt, giving Penetang a 1-0 lead heading into the second.
Penetang continued their momentum in the second period. Just 3:20 in, Rumbolt extended the lead, assisted by Camron Hutchinson and Geere. Then, at 8:24, Thayer struck again on the power play, with help from Ethan Boyes and Jacob Vanderburg. The Kings’ Riley Thayer added to Orillia’s troubles, making it 4-0 at 17:25 with an assist from Carter Wilson. However, Orillia got on the board before the period ended, as Finn Price scored at 18:19, assisted by Josh Presley and Caden Carroll, giving the Terriers a glimmer of hope.
In the third period, Orillia’s comeback began to take shape. Price scored his second goal of the game at 11:43, with assists from Presley and Jordan Fuller, cutting Penetang’s lead to 4-2. The Terriers kept the pressure on, and at 18:57, Dylan Palomaki netted a power-play goal assisted by Presley and Evan Gliddon, making it 4-3. Just 25 seconds later, Fuller tied the game at 4-4, assisted by Gliddon and Evan Feltis, sending the game into overtime.
Orillia carried their momentum into OT, and just 1:04 in, Evan Feltis capped off the comeback with his first PJHL Goal, assisted by Carroll and Price, securing a stunning 5-4 victory for the Terriers.
